Shpola town territorial community was created on January 26, 2017. It consists of 21 rural settlements and 1 town. The total area of the community is 789,53 km² and it is 3,78% of the territory of Cherkasy region. The population of the community is 33,8 thousand people (as of August 1, 2023).

The community has a favorable geographic location. The State Research Institute of Geodesy and Cartography has made a decision that the geographical center of Ukraine as the center of gravity of its territory is located in Shpola community, on the northern outskirts of Shpola town (N latitude: 49˚01′, E longitude: 31˚29′). In 2021 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine on the territory of Shpola community the art object “Heart of Ukraine” was opened. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi participated in this event. The “Heart of Ukraine” is a composition of pairs of wings symbolizing each region of Ukraine and a heart. It is a new and unique place of power.

There are 23 schools, 4 kindergartens, 3 institutions of out-of-school education, 1 museum, 1 library, 1 hospital and 1 outpatient clinic on the territory of Shpola community.

The community is mostly agrarian. The agricultural sector is represented by 34 agricultural enterprises, 37 farm enterprises and 1596 personal farms. They are: LNZ Group (a Ukrainian vertically integrated agro-industrial holding specializing in crop seeds and plant protection products sale, cultivation of grain and industrial crops, animal husbandry and grain trading activities), Tevitta company (a Ukrainian plant of frozen vegetables, berries and fruit, specializing in products freezing using IQF technology.

The largest industrial enterprises are: private JSC “Shpola Food Products Plant” specializing in the production of confectionery, chips, sausages, mayonnaise, etc.; LLC “Shpola-Product” engaged in the production of bread and bakery products; LLC “Orion-Glass”, which processes plate glass.

We are interested in cooperation with the EU municipalities in the following spheres:

economic cooperation: we can exchange experience in business and trade, implement infrastructure and tourism development projects or cooperate in the sphere of an industrial park operation on the territory of the community;

cultural cooperation: we can organize cultural exchanges, implement cultural heritage protection projects and develop creative industries;

education and science: we can implement projects aimed at improvement of the quality of education and science and share experience in professional training;

youth cooperation: we can organize youth exchanges and implement projects aimed at development of youth policy and social integration.

The community has communal and state-owned sites, which can be offered to potential investors for implementation of investment projects, in particular: the cultural center (communal ownership, non-operational, 909,2 m2); the beet pile field of the sugar factory (communal ownership, 8,5 hectares); the territory of the spare parts plant (communal ownership, non-operational, 12,5677 hectares), where it is planned to create an industrial park.
